UI/UX Design 2024

Do you think your dreams are trying to tell you something?

Cosmic Dreams is a concept app for exploring your dreams, documenting them, interpreting them, meditating and connecting with your higher self. I made it for my Interactive Design class during my Erasmus studies, during a phase where I was super obsessed with dreams and the concept that they are one of the most powerful tools we have for diving into our own subconscious. So I designed a place for people to do exactly that!

Cosmic Dreams — home screen, welcome back

Concept

I wanted something clean, dreamy and modern, soft serifs, celestial symbols, moons and stars scattered like marginalia. The app brings together a dream journal, guided meditations, articles on lucid dreaming, and a community space where people can post their dreams and help each other interpret them.

Fun fact: I had absolutely zero inspiration for this at first. One week of nothing. Then one day I sat down and speedran about 70% of the design in a single sitting, two weeks before the deadline.

My process is usually a little chaotic cause I just visualize things in my head and wing it like 60% of the time. But an app with journals, meditations, articles and discussions is exactly the kind of thing where winging it gets you lost in your own creation, so this time I mapped the whole structure before designing a single screen. Turns out even I need structure sometimes. This is that map.

Yes, I curated all the articles myself. Yes, I've tried all the techniques (quality assessment). No, I will not be sharing my dream journal! Want to see the rest? Have a look around below.
